Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I play mmorpgs all day long, and have a PC that is less than a year old, running windows 7. It tooks 2 hours to download it, and after I did, I was pissed off, to say the least. Everything runs VERY slow. We all no what lag is, but this is ridiculous. It doesn't even depend on an internet connection, but it lags like crazy. Moving the camera takes forever. The screens load about 50 times slower than they should. The tooltips appear after about 10 seconds. It is a total rip off. They say it is for windows 7, but this is clearly a 4x game. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This download sucks. Worthless. I wouldn't even buy the disc. I would have given it NO stars, but I had to put in one so I could post a review. (That's weak, too.)
It all feels so real and the animals and items have great detail. It does take some getting used to with the buttons and how it works, but once you get the hang of it, it's so flipping fun!
I was excited to try this out because I loved Zoo Tycoon. The game seemed very promising, nice graphics, complex but satisfying gameplay, etc. Then it started crashing. My laptop more than meets the graphics specs, the game ran very smoothly on high settings, but the game crashes every time after about 10 minutes of playing. It just says "Wildlife Park 3 has stopped working." I went on the company's website and they released 2 patches for it that are supposed to fix this problem and others, but when I tried to run the patches it said "Wildlife Park 3 is not installed". What? So now I have this game that I can't really play. At least it was only $10.
This game is does what I bought it for, but it was not a North American produced game like implied. In fact, it is a translated game from China area with the sayings and thoughts not always translating well. A lot of the levels are very tedious and slow moving with key parts (like food and habitat preference) not always clear that they are lacking. The cover art with the USA key markers should be changed to not disguise this game's origin. I would have been more pleased with the game had it had some screeshots when I bought it so I know what to expect. Most of the game runs irritatingly slow even with my graphics card, I supposed it is from the detail at finer levels when you zoom in, but it really makes game play unbearable if you are trying to do things quickly.
The good parts are the amazing animal details. On some levels, the interaction and behavior were worth the entire game. So, YES, I would purchase this again. The quests themselves are not that demanding, just fulfilling them can be a brain teaser with lots of things to look up and get correct. But, the good thing about that is everything you find out is helpful to the next goals and levels so no time wasted.
Unless you've got a manual be prepared to get frustrated with the game at first because you'll have no idea where to click (they slightly glow when the tutorial is going but there's so many it's hard to notice it right away). Once you figure the buttons out it gets a bit easier but honestly I thought Zoo Tycoon really was better. Beware of the tasks in the tutorial, it'll ask you something like put the keeper right next to the feeding bin, but they neglect to mention that it's a specific keeper so I had to put all 4 of mine next to it to pass the task. It's also difficult to select something because it keeps trying to select a spot on the ground. There's almost too much for one person to do if you decide to stay in your own park and build it.
In the story mode you go from park to park helping the owners or starting it yourself...if you decide to go on to the next park after completing your tasks it says you can come back but I didn't get the chance to try. There are symbols above items and creatures that need attention. The one I thought was kind of funny was the shovel above the tree. I thought maybe I was supposed to dig it up or maybe bury it? It took me forever to figure out that Shovel = terrain too soft.
Also, when I downloaded it, I got a few corrupt files with it? I was in the middle of a rather sucessful build, the park was pulling in some serious dough, and the program found one of those corrupt files and went back to the main menu without saving it...oh well. It does have a few good points though. The animal selection once you start getting high enough in rank is good and the upgradable stuff gets better, but if you're like me and like the game to go at the speed of light this makes for constant upgrading. Which is not easy when you also need to watch your population in each enclosure, build new enclosures, fix your item costs, build rides, constantly hire new people, really it keeps going. Unfortunately, I simply found this game boring. I gave it two stars just because they're promoting wildlife conservation, which is wonderful.
